International Cultural Festival

Celebrating Cultures. Sharing Heritage. Bringing Communities Together.

The International Cultural Festival is a new annual celebration bringing together communities from across the world to proudly share their culture, heritage and traditions.

Taking place across Fleetwood and Blackpool, our vision is to create an inclusive celebration where people of all backgrounds can come together, experience different cultures, learn from one another and celebrate the diversity of our communities.

The International Cultural Festival is not just about watching performances. It is about participation, sharing and bringing people together.

A Year-Round Celebration of Culture

The International Cultural Festival is more than a two-day event.

Throughout the year, we will work with cultural and community organisations across the Fylde Coast, giving communities opportunities to celebrate and share their heritage.

Communities will be encouraged to organise activities, classes and workshops that are open to everyone.

These could include:

  • Traditional dance
  • Music
  • Arts and crafts
    • Cultural traditions
    • Traditional clothing
    • Storytelling
    • Food and cuisine
    • Language and customs
    • Cultural celebrations
    • Creative workshops

This gives people an opportunity not only to learn about another culture, but to take part in it.

The skills, performances and creative work developed throughout the year can then be proudly showcased at the annual International Cultural Festival.

Our Communities at the Heart of the Festival

Our communities are at the heart of everything we want to create.

The International Cultural Festival will provide a platform for cultural groups and communities to showcase their heritage in their own way.

Whether through music, dance, traditional dress, food, art, storytelling, performances or cultural activities, we want each community to have the opportunity to share what makes its heritage special.

We also want to encourage communities to work together, creating new friendships and opportunities for cultural collaboration.

The festival is about celebrating our differences while recognising everything that brings us together.

    A Two-Day International Cultural Festival

Each year, our year-round programme will culminate in a major two-day International Cultural Festival, with one day in Fleetwood and one day in Blackpool.

    Day One – Fleetwood

The first day of the International Cultural Festival will take place in Fleetwood.

Communities, residents and visitors will come together for a vibrant celebration of cultures from around the world.

    Day Two – Blackpool

The celebrations will continue the following day in Blackpool, with our ambition to bring the International Cultural Festival to the iconic Comedy Carpet and Tower Festival Headland.

Together, Fleetwood and Blackpool will provide two fantastic settings for communities to share their heritage with thousands of local residents and visitors.

    What to Expect

Across the two days, the International Cultural Festival will bring together a colourful programme of cultural experiences, including:

    • Live cultural performances
    • Traditional music and dance
    • Community showcases
    • Traditional clothing
    • Arts and crafts
    • Cultural exhibitions
    • International food
    • Interactive cultural activities
    • Family entertainment
    • Opportunities to discover and experience new cultures

Most importantly, the festival will be shaped by the communities taking part.

    Showcase Your Heritage

Are you part of a cultural or community organisation?

We would love you to become part of the International Cultural Festival.

This is an opportunity to proudly showcase your heritage and introduce others to your traditions and culture.

    Your community could participate through:

    • Dance or musical performances
    • Traditional dress
    • Arts and crafts
    • Food
    • Cultural exhibitions
    • Workshops
    • Storytelling
    • Heritage displays
    • Interactive activities

Whether you represent a large established organisation or a smaller community group, we want to hear from you.

    Everyone Is Welcome

You don’t have to belong to a particular cultural community to take part.

The International Cultural Festival is for everyone.

    Come along to a workshop.

    Learn a new dance.

    Discover a new tradition.

    Try something different.

    Meet people from another community.

And then join us in Fleetwood and Blackpool as we celebrate everything we have learned and created together.

    Our Vision

Our vision is for the International Cultural Festival to become an important annual celebration for the Fylde Coast.

A festival where communities can be proud of their heritage.

A festival where traditions can be shared and celebrated.

A festival where people can discover cultures different from their own.

A festival where friendships and connections can grow throughout the year.

And a festival where everyone is welcome.
